The Gift Box

Writen by Sadie A Peterson

And what exactly is a Gift Box? Simply put, it is a box for gifts. Big deal, right?

So why do you need a Gift Box? To keep all those gifts in that you can accumulate throughout the year ... all those gifts that are purchased ahead of time, thus making your Christmas less stressful and more enjoyable ... all those gifts that when purchased throughout the year do not break the budget by all being purchased at once.

If you don't have a Gift Box, a specific place to put all your purchases, they will be scattered throughout the house and some will inevitably get "lost" and by the time they are found, they might not be suitable anymore. My Gift Box is just an ordinary box that I keep in the closet. It is unobtrusive yet easy to get to.

But a Gift Box is not only for Christmas presents. It can be used for any gifts that you buy throughout the year ... for birthdays, anniversaries, whatever the giving occasion.

When you put a gift into your Gift Box, label it somehow. I put a little sticky note on each gift with the name of the intended recipient. I also keep a notepad at the top of the box with the same information so that I can look at my list any time I need to rather than having to take everything out of the box just to see what's in there. And once you give a gift away, don't forget to cross it off your list. Label them when you put them in the box or you'll forget at some point who they were intended for. Trust me on that one!

Then when you need a gift, either for a birthday or when Christmas is a few weeks away, go to your Gift Box before you go shopping. Some of your gifts will already be there which will reduce or even eliminate the need to go shopping. Instant stress reducer!
